This week is Pet Appreciation Week!
In celebration, we have decided to shine the spotlight on some very special past residents who have since found their forever homes in more ‘professional’ settings.
A Working Pup
First up is Dagnabbit, the beloved dog-child of Branch Manager Susie. As you can imagine, Susie has a very busy schedule but Dag is always there to lighten the load. This includes giving the lovely staff at Ashleigh Vets in Chorlton a helping hand.
Top Dog
As cute as Dag is, she is not afraid to put her paw down when she needs to! For those of us who have had the pleasure of spending a working day with Susie and Dag, there is no confusion about who the boss is really. It is definitely Dag’s world and we just live in it!
Did you know up until 2014, our branch also cared for dogs?
It was during this time that Susie got the call about some very cute, very tiny Shih Tzu puppies. They needed a safe place to call their own until they were old enough for rehoming.
I don’t think Susie could have foreseen what was to come when she decided to care for them herself. Spoiler alert, that is how Susie met her future dog-child! The puppies were hand-reared by Susie, and once they were old enough they all found brilliant homes. Dagnabbit though decided to never leave and instead adopted Susie as her forever human. 11 years later and they are still inseparable!
Since her adoption, Dag has truly become an integral part of the team. One of her jobs include stock delivery assistant – also know as distracting staff into providing cuddles. She often takes the lead at important work meetings, ensuring that the most pressing topics are covered.
Dag is also a much-needed companion at our events and she loves a day of being shop dog. As you can see, it’s a busy life being the dog-child of a Branch Manager! Don’t worry though, she knows how to get all the treats and belly rubs.
Let us know who you will be celebrating this Pet Appreciation Week!
