Support our Crowdfunder and help animals just like Harriet, the most in need of our help.
Meet Harriet, a resilient soul who defied the odds stacked against her. At just five months old, she was discovered cowering under a parked car, her cries echoing her pain. Her left hind leg was hanging limply. She was taken by her owner to a local vet, where she was immediately admitted for assessment and provided with much-needed pain relief!
However, Harriet’s journey was far from straightforward. X-rays revealed not only a fractured leg but also multiple fractures to her ribs, each at varying stages of healing. Vets believed Harriet had been a victim of unspeakable cruelty, subjected to non-accidental harm over an extended period.
Harriet was taken to the RSPCA Greater Manchester Animal Hospital (GMAH), where they performed intricate surgery to plate and pin the fractured leg. Following her surgery, she was entrusted into our care at the RSPCA Manchester and Salford branch, where we have specialised facilities to cater to her needs. With the branch conveniently located just half a mile away from the RSPCA GMAH, the journey for Harriet’s check-ups was a stress-free affair!
Throughout her rehabilitation, Harriet proved to be a model patient, displaying remarkable resilience despite the challenges she faced. While her healing journey may not have been as swift as hoped, her unwavering spirit sustained her through eight weeks of recuperation under restricted rest.
Harriet was able to receive the comprehensive care and attention necessary for her recovery thanks to the generosity of RSPCA Manchester and Salford Branch supporters. Her transformation from a victim of violence to a beacon of resilience is a testament to our compassionate community of animal lovers.
As Harriet prepares to embark on a new chapter in her life in a loving forever home, we extend our deepest gratitude to all who have stood by her side. Your unwavering support has not only changed Harriet’s life, but also reaffirmed our collective commitment to protecting and advocating for the welfare of animals like her.
