Leaving a legacy gift is not as complicated as you might think. You can do it when you first make a Will, or if you already have a Will, you can update it very easily.  Making a Will for the first time doesn’t have to be time-consuming. Many solicitors and Will writing companies even offer the service online.

We’re also delighted to offer a Free Will Writing Service, providing you with the opportunity to make a legally binding Will or to update an existing Will, at no cost. This can be done online or over the phone with  Kwil, or in the convenience of your own home with  Goodwill Partnership

If you do choose to leave a gift in your Will to us, you’ll need to include our name, address and registered charity number:
RSPCA Manchester and Salford
Registered charity address: 565 Wilbraham Road, Manchester, M21 0AE
Registered charity number: 232255

If you have already remembered us in your Will then there is no obligation to tell us, but we would love to hear from you so we can thank you.

What supporters say

Olivia tells us why she has recently asked for RSPCA Manchester and Salford Branch to be included in her Will:

“I adopted two kittens, Daisy and Tilly in 2012. Those two have made such a difference to my life. I’ve stayed in touch with the Branch, and you can’t help but be touched by the work they do. They give so many animals who have had an awful start, a second chance.

I recently started thinking about making a Will for the first time. I did this with the  GoodWill Partnership, who offer free Wills to RSPCA  Manchester and Salford supporters.

As I went through the process, leaving a gift to the Branch was at the forefront of my mind. Through my long term involvement, I’m acutely aware of how much they rely on legacy gifts. I’m pleased to have pledged a gift in my Will. It feels good to know that, by doing this, I’m helping future mistreated animals to find safe and loving homes.“

How a legacy donation will make a difference to our branch

Over the years we’ve received some truly transformational gifts from people who love animals. In 2019 we used a larger legacy donation to complete the refit of our animal rehoming centre; a place where we care for and rehome in the region of 450 cats, rabbits and small furries each year. However, if you’re thinking of including us in your Will, rest assured that whatever the size, it will make a huge difference to the wellbeing of animals locally.

As a charity, we rely on legacies on a daily basis to care for the region’s most mistreated animals. There are threats on the horizon as the economy tightens – we’re paying more in vets bills and for basic provisions such as animal food and litter. We cannot reduce our energy usage as we must keep animals in the rehoming centre warm at all times.

If you have included us in your Will already, we want you to know how much we value your trust, your intention and your compassion for our animals.  Please get in touch so we can thank you directly.
