• Organise your own fundraiser: bring together your family, work colleagues and friends to raise funds for the animals in our care. It can be a book club, a bake-off, quiz night or coffee morning.
• Be a party planner. Are you a great organiser? Use your skills to put on an event that will get everyone together and have a fabulous time. Why not host a 70’s disco, a masked ball or a karaoke night.
• Go animal themed: If you’re feeling artistic, offer to create some ‘pawtraits’ of your friends and colleagues’ small animals in exchange for a donation. Or run an animal photo competition – ask people to share their favourite pictures of their beloved pet – cat, hamster, guinea pigs, rabbits and more! To vote people must pay a minimum fee, say £1 a vote. If someone donates £10, that’s 10 votes for their chosen pawfect pet.
• Plan a neighbourhood dog show with classes like ‘waggiest tail’ or ‘most adorable eyes’ – charge a small fee to enter each class and invest in smart rosettes for the winners!
• Hold a Hoppy Hour in your house or garden. Then, invite all of your rabbit-loving friends to come round for drinks, food, and fun. You can charge an admission price.
• Do it virtually: technology means that fundraising has got easier! Platforms like Zoom have a donate facility and Facebook Live means great events can be virtual. You can also run online auctions through platforms, such as eBay for Charity, Donate or Givergy.
• Take on a personal challenge: get sponsored to give up your favourite fix – chocolate, wine or social media, for a super simple way to feel good and do good!
• Join an organised challenge event and ask for sponsorship: there’s heaps of 10k’s in and around the north west including the Manchester 10k, Tatton Park and Heaton Park and Media City. Or try a half or full marathon, in Wilmslow, Salford or Manchester. Click here to check out a full list.
